second SHELF reflection

PROCESS
It took total of 4-5 hours to take our video.
To determine our second SHELF project idea, all members suggested their ideas.
But we decided to do Lyu Il seon's Idea that is some tips for life.
Because,we thought it can be quite informative, and if we use 'Superman' concept, it would be fun. I think our prediction quite met our expectation.
Acting like a super hero, superman was so much fun and there was always laugh
among us. and absolutely our teamwork was best.
and we did our best to make it fun, informative, try to say some difficult words and say long.
But there were some difficult points to do.
At first, we took a first few scenes in dormitory's lobby.
so when we acted, another many strangers looked at us.
It was kinda shy and couldn't concentrate well on what we were doing.
and act wasn't easy! If somebody commit mistake, we should have gone back to beginning, and should take video repeatedly.
And my part was kinda long. so it was hard to remember all the things I planned.
but I didn't want to read a paper. So even though I missed something what I had to say, I pushed myself to  say without paper and say naturally.
and editing was also quite difficult. But when it comes to edit , especially our two chinese teammates, lyu il seon and du bi sang did their best and I heard that
it took almost whole 1 day to edit this video.

LEARNING POINT
troublesome:  to describe something or someone that causes annoying problems or difficulties.
Detach:If you detach one thing from another that it is fixed to, you remove itIf one thing detaches from anotherit becomes separated from it
Let me have a try!
give something away: to donate or bestow as a giftprize...

Second Mock Interview's Learning Point

-> I should have said 'A few days ago, I planned going to vietnam.'

'It was complicated than I expected.'
-> It was more complicated than I expected.

'Yesterday, we finished our final presentation. So there is 80%sure to go vietnam.'
->So I can say there is 80%sureness we can go to vietnam.

'I will prepare various kinds of task which will give the students.'
-> I will prepare various kinds of class methods and tasks which will help our students      improve their ability.

Analysis of Job Interview

Last week, we did Job interview.
It's my first time to do job interview in English.
So at first it was quite embarrassed, but was quite helpful.
and Here are things I found that the thing I was good and not.

Good!
-Hand gesture!
I used a lot of hand gesture.
I think it helped me convey what I wanted say.
-Speech speed
I spoke in a moderate speed.
It also helped me to express my opinion effectively.

Bad!
-My posture and vacant eyes.
I slouched and didn't have clear eyes.
It really looks like  I don't have confidence and am not professional.
I really have to fix this wrong posture.
  straighten shoulder!

First SHELF video& Analysis

First, Here is my teams' first SHELF video!

By doing this SHELF project, I felt like I went back to freshman period.

It has been a really long time to do team work with such a fun topic and effort.
What went well is all our teammates were really cooperative.
Every moment we are together, there was always laugh and passion.
and could learn from others. For example, I suggested our team's topic and Jin gook has video editing skill and So won helped us some English problems.

However, there are also some points have to do better next time.

I took the video using my phone vertically.
It wasn't problem on my phone, but after editing, the video looks way smaller than on my phone. I can barely watch. so I think I have to take video with horizontally next time. And my pronunciation. I have to improve it to be more clear.

For next SHELF video, I want to take a video about our summer vacation plan.

Almost every student of our class is third year and senior of univ.
It means this summer vacation is so important to us. I want to hear out their story.
But it's not sure. I'll think about it more!

SHELF IDEA

1. I'd like to record a video which is kinda travel video.
Nowadays, I'm really interested in travel.
So I searched, and found many amazing travel video.
Of course, those kind of videos are quite complicated to make.
Maybe we can make it simple. like just use simple video edit skill.
For this travel video, we can visit some famous places in Busan
or somewhere we wanna go. and make a group, plan and go there recording
video and explaining the progress of travel in English.
   It will be fun!

2. Like Hae chan, I'm also interested in foreign culture and friends.
So we can make a talk show which invite foreign student, friends and talk about
their culture and compare each other's culture.

WEEK 4-Speed Date Recording

For week 4, We did speed dating.
Speed dating is kinda short talking with stranger almost for 5-10 minutes and continuously switching my seat to the other guys and keep on talking.
It was my first time doing it, it was soooooooo fun and interesting.
Here's what I actually did :D

This is my recordings which I talked with Evan.
Evan is really good guy who has great accent and has his own firm belief.
Anyway, Speaking of my speed dating with Evan, I think I made a lot of mistakes :(
Here's the reason!
I heard there are many different types of communication.
First one is communication to be intimate each other, which is usually done in personal situation.
Another is communication for exchange each other's information.
For dating, we had to do First communication type.
But the questions I asked to Evan was all for the communication for exchange information. I asked him 'How we call Black people in English in a polite way?'
'Did you heard the Germany flight accident, Do you the reason?' 'What kind of job do want to do practically?'......... wow, It seems like I'm interviewing him or I'm his employer.
I couldn't know what he's really like or what kind of person he is.
and What is even more, I didn't give him a chance to ask about me.
I just kept on asking question.
Even though we talked, He didn't get any information about me.
I should try to come up with some good questions to get intimate with someone.
Anyway, It was my first time. I'll do better next time.

Thanks for this opportunity, I'll never make a same mistake on my real date!!! ;D

WEEK 3- What I learned

I just wanted to summarize what I learned from class for Week3 :D
If i made some mistakes(grammatical error, using inappropriate expression and so on),plz let me know or correct it :)

1)The difference between say/tell, speak/talk
   Say/Tell
SAY: say something. A word or words have to come out through your mouth.
TELL: If you tell someone something, you give them information.

For example 'Say a story': You have to repeat verbally 'a story'
'Tell a story': tell your story to someone

    Speak/Talk
SPEAK: It can be one-sided communication.
    Talk: Communicate together

For example 'Can I talk to you for a minute?'-Let's talk together.
'Can I speak to you for a minute'-It can be the situation like this
: I'll tell something to you. Plz listen.

2)The words I learned from English Central Videos
  - empower: If someone is empowered to do something, they have the authority or
                 power to do it.
                To give someone ability
EX-The new president wants to empower everyone.

  - inherit: To receive property or money after someone dies.
EX-The prince will inherit the kingdom after his father passes away

-shattered: to damage or destroy (산산조각 나다)
EX-All of the glass ceilings that have yet to be shattered

-twisted: to change the meaning of something(사실따위를 왜곡하다)
EX-He thinks differently from each other because he's got a twisted mind.

-Butterflies: a nervous feeling in a person's stomach
EX- He gets butterflies whenever he talks to a pretty girl

Revised Week 2 blog- Interesting Video

Hello!!
I forgot that I also had to include discussion point in this blog.
So I revised and upload again:)

Tyler Oakley: Crashing a Homecoming

<Video Description>
Nowadays I'm really into watching famous youtuber's videos to study English and for fun at the same time.
Tyler oakley is one of the most famous youtubers.
At first, He uploaded his daily blog which shows what he did.
As time goes by, He was getting so famous and now he is often invited to many famous events as a host.
Also In this video, He is telling us what happened on his homecoming party invitation.
In there, he was invited to one company's homecoming party and met a singer
'Charlie xcx' and interviewed her doing a little game.
The good thing about watching his video is He upload his video with subtitle.
So even though I missed some his words, I could get what he said and could find the words on dictionary.
and  He is a American and It is his daily blog, I could get to know about American culture and what is trend in the United States.
Like, I could know what is homecoming day from this video.

<Words & Expression I learned>
1)Homecoming: I think Homecoming is kinda similar to Korean's 동창회.
But not exactly same, different thing is usually korean hold 동창회
to meet our old elementary, middle, high school friends also for
                  university friends.
However, for Americans, it has more wide meaning even can be
worked to someone who came back to their hometown and they do  some sports
                  games on this event.

2)They completely decked out this homecoming and set up a red carpet.
                          =decorate

3)I crushed you by three points
     =defeat

4)There are so many boys that I'm like, thirsty for.
It's hard to narrow it down
                        =reduce the number

<Discussion Point>
-Do you have any youtuber who you like? If so, Pleas let me know :)
-Have you ever experienced Homecoming ?
